Daily yoga practice yields profound life-changing benefits, from improved sleep, mood, and mental focus, to reduced aches and pains and reduced stress. All of these lead to a notably healthier, happier, and more productive life.

But if we’re honest, how realistic is it to practice yoga in a studio every day? For most people it isn’t. The trick is to find a combination of home and studio practice that works for you, then stick with that schedule.

This October, in honor of our 6th Anniversary, The Yoga Room is doing a special project and we’re inviting all of our students to participate.

The Yoga Project is a month-long guided program designed to help you find and create your daily personal yoga practice. Zelinda will lead weekly calls where she’ll provide instruction, advice, motivation, and answer questions.

Here’s how it works

On Saturday, October 1, at 9:30 a.m., Zelinda will lead The Yoga Project's kick off call. During this call you’ll learn about the benefits of studio practice vs. home practice, how to set up your weekly practice schedule, and how to get the most out of this experience. Zelinda will share two printable home practices, one that is Mind focused and one that is Body focused.

Beginning Sunday, October 2, you’ll follow your daily personal practice schedule.

Each Saturday at 9:30 a.m. during the month of October, Zelinda will host a group call during which she’ll provide instruction in yoga philosophy, discuss your observations and any questions or challenges that came up for you during the week, and advise you for the week ahead.

During the last call on October 30, she’ll talk about how to determine whether any adjustments to your daily practice schedule are needed, and how to make those adjustments.

The Goal

The goal of The Yoga Project is to help you take your practice to the next level.

If you’re currently practicing, you’ll learn new subtleties about your practice and gain a new understanding of yourself.

If you’re brand new to yoga, this will be a fantastic way to begin, under the guidance of a mentor and with a community of support.

Regardless of where you begin, you’ll experience a new sense of ease and relaxation, and a new level of productivity and creativity.

The Details

The Yoga Project will be hosted in a private Facebook group to provide the functionality of Facebook Live for the weekly calls, as well as the option to post and comment for ongoing discussion and support.

There is no cost to participate in the guided program (Facebook group); you only need to pay for the classes you attend at the studio. We recommend that you plan for a minimum of 3 studio classes per week during the month of October to help you deepen your practice and motivation. The Monthly Unlimited Auto-Renewing Pass ($105) and 1 Month Unlimited Pass ($120) are the most cost effective options for people who attend at least 3 classes per week.
