Our Beginners Series are a great way to start practicing yoga! We offer two types of Beginners Series - Gentle and Moderate. Both Beginners Series are designed to help you:
Improve strength, flexibility, and balance
Promote mental calm through yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation practices
Learn many common yoga poses and how to adjust each pose for your unique body
Learn everything you need to know to confidently transition to regular classes upon graduation
It’s really important that you select the appropriate Beginners Series so that you will gain the most benefit from your experience.
Gentle Beginners Series
The Gentle Beginners Series is customized to best meet the needs and goals of the participants. It is designed especially for people who:
Have difficulty transitioning between standing and lying on the floor,
Have difficulty balancing on one foot,
Are uncomfortable sitting or lying on the floor for more than a couple of minutes,
Are uncomfortable kneeling,
Have recently been cleared to exercise after illness or surgery, and/or
Prefer a gentler yoga practice.
Moderate Beginners Series
The Moderate Beginners Series is customized to best meet the needs and goals of the participants and is more physically challenging. It is designed for people who:
Can easily transition between standing and lying on the floor,
Are comfortable standing, kneeling, squatting, and balancing on one foot, and
Are comfortable sitting and lying on the floor.
All Beginners Series classes are 60 minutes long and meet once per week for six weeks. Registration is limited to 10 participants, so please register early to secure your spot. The Beginners Series fee is $78 and includes mat rental. Please make sure to register for a series that fits your schedule; missed Beginners Series classes cannot be made up.
