Helpful tips:

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class so that you can fill out our New Student Form, or you can print it (please print double-sided if possible), fill it out, and bring it with you if you prefer.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your class. Late arrivals are disruptive to the teacher and the students. For more information about our late policy please read this blog post.

We offer workshops and series on a variety of topics to help you deepen your yoga practice.
Class sizes are capped so that we can provide the best possible learning environment.

The Beginners Series is a great way to start practicing yoga! Upon completion of the series, you'll have gained a foundation of knowledge so that you'll feel confident in regular classes. You’ll learn:

  • how to do all the common yoga poses
  • how to modify to make each pose work well for your body
  • what kinds of benefits can be gained from consistent yoga practice
  • an introduction to the different types of classes offered at the studio so that you can find the classes most appropriate and beneficial for you

Traditionally, yoga was taught one on one: one teacher and one student. The instruction was customized to suit the student's needs and style of learning. As yoga gained popularity in the West, it transformed into a group exercise practice, which how we typically see yoga practiced in the US today.

At The Yoga Room, we offer traditional, private Individual Instruction because of the incredible benefits it provides. In a one on one setting, the teacher is focused on you and individual needs, and creates a customized practice designed just for you.

Individual yoga instruction can help you:

• manage and reduce pain

• improve posture

• manage stress/improve relaxation

• improve sleep quality

• learn to breathe better

• improve flexibility and strength

• balance your fitness training (great for serious and professional athletes)

Who is Individual Instruction for?

• beginners (also see our Beginners Series)

• people who are working with any type of special situation (joint issues, balance issues, health issues, stress, injury, pregnancy, etc.)

• athletes who need a customized practice for sports training

• people whose schedule makes it difficult to attend group classes

• people who want to deepen their understanding about a specific topic (meditation, chanting, breathing techniques, philosophy, etc.)

Did you know?

Gentle, pregnancy-appropriate asanas (yoga poses) help you improve your strength and flexibility, manage aches and pains, and prepare your body for childbirth. Breathing and relaxation practices help you optimize your overall wellness in preparation for labor, birth, and motherhood.

Doctors often recommend yoga to pregnant women, but what they don't always know is that certain types of yoga are beneficial during pregnancy, and certain types are not.

It's really important, especially if you're new to yoga, to practice the right kind of yoga with a teacher who is specially trained in prenatal yoga.

We’ve partnered with the City of Round Rock to offer Yoga on the Plaza, a free beginner-friendly community yoga class in downtown Round Rock! This class is held outdoors at Prete Plaza, which is across the street from the Round Rock Public Library. Bring your yoga mat or large towel and bottled water.

When you arrive, be sure to check in at our table. The first 100 people to check in will receive a free class pass to our studio. Additionally, make sure to enter the drawing for a Free Month of Unlimited Yoga for you and a friend! The drawing will be held immediately after the class.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to sign up ahead of time?

A: No sign-up is required! Please arrive at Prete Plaza a few minutes before 8:00 a.m. to check in at our table and set up your yoga mat.

Q: Do I need to bring anything?

A: We suggest a bottle of water and a yoga mat or large towel. This class is outdoors, and there is shade cover for much of the plaza, but you may consider sun protection.

Q: Where can I park?

A: You're welcome to park on the street near the Plaza, or you may choose to park in the City Hall Parking Garage, located at the corner of S Lampasas St and E Bagdad Ave.

Q: I'm pregnant, can I attend Yoga on the Plaza?

A: Yoga on the Plaza is not specifically designed for pregnancy, and due to the large class size, the teacher will not be able to customize the practice for pregnancy.

If you are an experienced yoga practitioner who knows how to modify yoga for pregnancy and keep yourself and your baby safe, you are welcome to attend.

If you are new to yoga or are interested in a customized prenatal yoga practice, we recommend attending the Prenatal Yoga Series in the studio.

Q: Can my child(ren) attend Yoga on the Plaza with me?

A: It depends on the child. If your child is mature enough to stay on his or her mat, listen to the yoga teacher's instruction, and follow along with the practice, they are welcome to attend.
