Fall Class Schedule

I hope you're having a good day today. I arrived home from India late Sunday night and each day I recover a little more from the jetlag. I am very happy to be back and I feel fresh enthusiasm for my practice and my teaching, which I look forward to sharing with you.

I cannot believe how much I learned over the past five weeks, and also over the 18 month course of this training. I almost feel embarrassed that I've been teaching 10+ years without this latest knowledge, but I guess that is how life goes. We learn and grow, and as long as we are doing our best, we can't have regrets about the past.

Today I'd like to share with you our upcoming Fall Class Schedule, which takes effect onMonday, August 20th. As always, we strive to minimize change, but as many teachers were away for the summer, you will of course see change as they make their way back onto the schedule. Please note that we have added the following new class times:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. (Strong with Lk)
  • Saturday 6:45 a.m. (Moderate with me)

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, for best results, I recommend you plan a personalyoga schedule of at least 3-4 yoga practices per week. Practices can be in the studio or at home, or a combination of the two. We organize our Class Schedule to provide consistency during the weekdays. You can attend the same class with (typically) the same teacher on MWF and also on TT.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about the new class schedule, or if you need some guidance in establishing your personal practice. I can probably help you via email, or we can schedule an Individual Instruction session if you feel you need more time. You can reach me at zelinda@rryogaroom.com.

One more thing... If you'd like to hear more about what I learned at my training course in India, please mark your calendar for a free event called Reflections from India, which I'm hosting at the studio on Saturday, Aug 25th, from 2:00 - 4:00. I'd love to see you.

All the best!

Heading to India to Finish My Training!

I hope your summer is off to a great start! The weather has been nice, not too crazy hot (yet!), and if you have school-age kids who are now on summer break, you might even be enjoying a slightly more leisurely schedule.

This summer is a little crazy for me. In a little less than two weeks I'm heading back to India for my third and final module of the International Yoga Teacher Training Program at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai.

And as much as I'm looking forward to geeking out with long days of in-depth learning, and of course, completing this incredible 500 hour certification, I've been stressed out in these weeks leading up to my trip.

I bet you get overwhelmed sometimes, too. Life happens and we have to figure out how to deal.

When I'm dealing with extra stress, I get really focused with my yoga practice. Moving my body helps me keep aches and pains at bay. Breathing helps me calm my mind and clarify my perception so I can make good, healthy decisions.

Yoga is so unbelievably powerful! One only has to decide to begin, then keep taking one small step at a time.

The more you practice, the more you learn, and the more you learn, the more you realize how much you have yet to learn.

If you've been practicing yoga long enough, you've likely experienced some pretty incredible benefits and developed a curiosity about what lies deeper. Perhaps you have a particular interest in asana, anatomy, philosophy, breathing, meditation, and/or some other subtle aspect of yoga.

If this sounds like you, now might be the perfect time to explore deeper into the study of yoga. I invite you to learn more about our 2019 Yoga Teacher Training program. And if the thought of Yoga Teacher Training puts butterflies in your tummy, take that as a good sign! EveryBody is welcome in our program. The world needs all kinds of yoga teachers!

As always, I'd love to hear from you! Share your thoughts with me at zelinda@rryogaroom.com.

All the best,
Zelinda
